The Position

We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse to join a team of two nursing professionals for the 2024-25 school year. The school nurse works collaboratively to respond to the immediate health needs of individual students, maintains the overall health and safety of the Episcopal Academy community, and promotes a culture of student wellness. The ideal candidate will possess both strong clinical skills and sound judgment. This position is full-time, ten months a year and is benefit eligible. We anticipate the hours will be Monday through Friday 10am until 6pm, but might change depending on the needs of the department.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide care to students who seek assistance with health and wellness concerns.
  • Treat minor accidents and health emergencies.
  • Contact emergency services and parents when necessary.
  • Maintain student and employee electronic health records
  • Follow HIPAA guideline to protect student medical information
  • Perform first aid and CPR if needed.
  • Evaluate the student's total health and development status through comprehensive health assessments and provide follow up if needed.
  • Dispense, monitor, and record all students' medications for acute and chronic health problems.
  • Perform treatment procedures in accordance with physician and/or licensed health care provider's instructions.
  • Provide primary nursing care for after school programming.
  • Work in collaboration with the athletic trainers supporting student athletes on an as needed basis.
  • Complete accident reports of injuries.
  • Other duties as assigned.

About You

  • Pennsylvania licensed RN/Current CPR and First Aid certified
  • One year of nursing experience required
  • Certified School Nurse highly preferred
  • Possess the ability to work with school aged children in lower, middle and upper school settings
