The West Hill Preschool in Rosemont, PA seeks an organized, motivated, collaborative team member to serve as our full-time Director of Admissions & Communications. This Director plays a key role in the West Hill community managing all aspects of admissions including recruitment, enrollment, and retention efforts as well as overseeing school-wide & community communications.

 

The candidate will follow the regular West Hill calendar with an additional 45 summer hours. The salary for the 2024-2025 school year is $56,500.  Benefits include partial tuition reimbursement for employees, partial tuition remission for their children, and retirement benefits at the beginning of the third year of employment. The West Hill School, located in a residential area on two acres, is a unique preschool built especially for children aged two years seven months to five years. The school is accredited by PAIS (Pennsylvania Association for Independent Schools) and is committed to creating a warm, trusting atmosphere that encourages young people to develop a life-long celebration of learning and to “connect, learn, and grow.” Since 1966, West Hill’s greatest strengths have been the joyful learning environment dedicated to meeting the needs of the whole child, the talented faculty/administration, the supportive community of parents/guardians and Board members, and a solid financial base. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Act consistently with the values of The West Hill School in accordance with the School Mission and the policies, procedures, and protocols identified in the Employee Handbook.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude, flexible problem-solving skills, leadership qualities, and initiative.
  • Coordinate and participate in all recruitment efforts.
  • Direct the admissions process from point of inquiry through enrollment.
  • Prepare and maintain statistics regarding enrollment and geographical distribution of children.
  • Coordinate all re-enrollment activity with constant monitoring of attrition and retention.
  • Coordinate and organize the enrollment for activities beyond the regular program.
  • Create, process, and manage all Brightwheel tuition invoices & monthly program invoices as well as other pertinent information.
  • Fully implement the use of Brightwheel as the School’s management and communication program.
  • Assist the accountant and head of school on finance-related items.
  • Provide technical support for all West Hill School users – including virtual learning, troubleshooting, hardware setup, and software installation.
  • Perform system backups and troubleshoot the network and system outages.
  • Notify all members of the school community of school emergency closures, weather-related closures, etc. via Brightwheel as the School’s management and communication program.
  • Manage network and email accounts.
  • Monitor and update the Word Press West Hill School website and Parents’ site keeping them current with school announcements, updates, pictures, videos, etc. using HTML.
  • Post appropriate information and notices on Board Portal & Dashboard
  • Initiate, implement, and oversee the strategic marketing plan for the School.
  • Protect brand cohesion by reviewing, filtering, and editing all communication & marketing vehicles.
  • Coordinate office announcements each week and email to parents/guardians, staff, and Board.
  • Manage social media (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
  • Ensure that the school maintains frequent and consistent communication with parents/guardians and WHS staff and Board members.
  • Serve as the School’s primary media contact and foster relationships with media personnel to enhance the School’s image and visibility.
  • Promote good relationships with outside institutions or groups (schools, libraries, civic associations, real estate agencies, etc.) that can help attract prospective children.
  • Organize and supervise marketing events outside of the school.

 

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required

  • Four-year college degree.
  • Strong oral and written communication and technology skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents/guardians) and to foster a team environment.
  • Personal and professional alignment with The West Hill School Mission.
  • Satisfactory background checks every three years.
