POSITION SUMMARY: The Educational Technology Coach is responsible for supporting faculty on best practice in pedagogy when integrating educational technology in PreK-12 classrooms, assisting professional development, and evangelizing responsible use of technology. The person in this position is familiar with education technology frameworks and looks creatively at educational tech and design. A critical member of the Technology Team, the Educational Technology Coach is a 12-month staff position, reporting to the Director of Information and Instructional Technology.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide coaching, observation, and modeling of modern instructional strategies and technologies based on leading education technology frameworks and organizations.
  • Work with the Director to facilitate high quality professional development (both one-on-one and in groups) to refine teacher knowledge and skills around technology use needed to implement the school’s Technology Integration Plan.
  • Work with the Director to ensure that the Digital/Technology Literacy and Citizenship Curriculum is implemented across Divisions.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers in the development of lessons and learning activities that integrate pedagogically appropriate technology.
  • Provide support and training for faculty on the use of Canvas (LMS) in the classroom; manage and resolve Canvas helpdesk tickets.
  • Provide support for various educational software applications on campus including, but not limited to, Google Apps for Education, SMART Notebook, Clevertouch software, desktop software applications (Office 365, Adobe), iOS apps, and a variety of academic software and web services in a multi-platform environment.
  • Ensure accurate rostering of students in all academic software
  • Develop and maintain a collection of just-in-time classroom technology resources/toolkits, produce instructional videos
  • Assist in the development of training and tutorial materials for students and
  • Maintain a variety of files, documents and/or records for the purpose of documenting activities concurrent with the functions of the Educational Technology Coach.
  • Use the school Mobile Device Management software (Jamf) to configure and deploy iPads; assign apps to campus Apple mobile devices; troubleshoot iPad app / Apple TV issues.
  • Document and maintain academic software systems processes and
  • Maintain campus wide academic software Track software licensing and renewals.
  • Troubleshoot and support classroom A/V issues - e., Smartboards, interactive projectors, Clevertouch panels.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Possess an understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion and the implementation of those principles in independent schools.

TECHNOLOGY TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond to software-related problems assigned by the Helpdesk system via telephone, email and in person.
  • Assist team members on as-needed
  • Backup support for Chromebook deployment
  • Maintain expertise in computer Be knowledgeable about technology trends in schools.

 

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • A. or B.S. degree, Masters preferred.
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in educational technology; supporting, integrating, and training of Google Apps, Microsoft Office, Learning Management Systems, and a plethora of academic software and web services.
  • Previous classroom teaching experience a plus, ideally in computer science or
  • Deep understanding and appreciation of theories of learning and
  • Experience coaching/supporting teachers in the use of
  • Proficiency in information and classroom technology, Windows, macOS, Apple TV, and iOS devices/deployment, and classroom AV.
  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot users’ software application problems, and to build capacity in individual employees and teams.
  • Ability to interact with users in a professional, cooperative, and courteous manner.
  • Demonstrates cultural awareness, including knowledge of themselves and the cultural lenses they bring to interactions.
  • Sense of humor, enthusiastic and happy high, ethical professional standards, and multicultural perspective.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Works in an environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
  • May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of
  • Be able to occasionally lift up to 30 of computer equipment.
  • Crawl under or around furniture to install computer
  • Work primarily in a traditional climate-controlled office
