Science Teacher - Full Time

Full-Time Science Teacher:  Ideal candidate would have PA certification or commensurate experience and training in Secondary Biology.  In addition to proven success with strategies for Science instruction across a wide range of teaching methodologies, successful candidates will possess the following proficiencies:

• A commitment to the Catholic identity of Villa Maria Academy and the mission of the IHM charism.
• Demonstrated dedication and collaboration to help foster passion for inquiry-based science instruction for our students.
• Evidence of a content background which provides the ability to prepare and teach Biology at multiple levels, ranging from college preparatory to honors.
• Proven fluency and willingness to use technology to enhance instructional delivery.
• Curricular development and administration of Biology classes consistent with school mission, goals, and values.
• Ability to conduct ongoing assessment of student growth and progress, and modify instructional methods and curriculum to fit individual needs of students of varying levels and abilities.
• Continuing acquisition of professional knowledge and pedagogy including current developments in the discipline by attending seminars, workshops, or other professional development opportunities.
• Learning and utilizing the school’s learning management and student information systems for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement, and attendance as required.
• Navigation skills for digital workflow.
• Providing an advisory role to help guide students with course management, study skills, and social development.
• Have an interest in supervision of co-curricular responsibilities, as available.
