Interim Assistant/Associate Director of Upper School Admission

Westtown School seeks an Interim Assistant/Associate Director of Upper School Admission to join our dynamic enrollment team for the 2024-25 school year and as a candidate for a permanent role beginning July 1, 2025. The Assistant/Associate Director reports to the Dean of Enrollment Management and works in close collaboration with colleagues to achieve the school’s enrollment goals. Guided by Westtown’s mission, the Interim Assistant/Associate Director will focus on the successful recruitment, selection, and enrollment of mission-aligned students in the upper school.

Westtown School is an independent, Quaker co-educational, pre-K to 12, college preparatory day and boarding school located in suburban West Chester, PA, approximately 30 miles from Philadelphia. On a beautiful 600-acre campus, Westtown offers a program where our committed faculty and staff inspire and prepare our students to be stewards and leaders of a better world. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Generate interest in Westtown and expand the pool of mission-aligned applicants by cultivating relationships with schools, consultants, program leaders and other recruitment partners.
  • Nurture authentic relationships with prospective students and their families throughout the enrollment cycle, providing outstanding customer service from inquiry through matriculation.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and selection of applicants for admission using professional judgment and an accurate understanding of the qualities of students who thrive at Westtown;
  • Collaborate with colleagues to execute projects, events and initiatives in support of enrollment goals.
  • Embrace a schedule that will include representing Westtown at on- and off-campus events on some evenings and weekends with seasonal regional and national travel (Sept-Nov and April-May).

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and results-oriented professional who enjoys working with teenagers and demonstrates the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree required;
  • Relevant professional experience, with a preference for independent school or university recruitment or admission roles;
  • Ability to articulate the value of Westtown’s independent boarding school education;
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both verbally and in writing;
  • Proficient with Google Workspace applications, familiarity with database or CRM preferred;
  • Excellent time management, organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail and deadlines;
  • Self-motivated, adaptable and team-oriented;
  • A positive outlook and a sense of humor;
