Middle School Spanish Teacher
Westtown School seeks a Middle School Spanish teacher to begin in August 2025. The Middle School Spanish teacher works as an effective member of the Middle School faculty, a grade-level team, and a 6-12th grade World Language department. Responsibilities will include teaching Intro to Spanish (6th grade), Spanish 1 (7th grade), and Spanish 2 (8th grade), participating as a coach in the co-curricular program, and potentially teaching one Upper School Spanish class.
Westtown School is an independent, Quaker co-educational, pre-K to 12 college preparatory day and boarding school located in suburban West Chester, PA, approximately 30 miles from Philadelphia. The Middle School Spanish program serves as both an entry point for new language learners and a developmental next step for Spanish language students from Westtown’s Lower School. The successful candidate will be fluent in Spanish, be familiar with educational technologies, and have experience with and a passion for teaching in the target language.
In addition, the Middle School Spanish teacher is a member of the core Middle School team. Core activities include advising, supervision of study halls and recesses, chaperoning field trips, and related activities that contribute to the Middle School community and the educational experience of our students. The successful candidate will be a motivated educator with strong content knowledge and a keen interest in and enthusiasm for working with Middle School students. The Middle School Spanish teacher will lead or assist one or two seasons of co-curricular sports or activities or as a leader in the after-school program.
