Director of Alumni

Who You Are

The Episcopal Academy seeks a dynamic, strategic, and highly relational Director of Alumni to elevate the school’s alumni program into its next era - one defined by deeper engagement, stronger volunteer leadership, and increased philanthropic investment. With more than 5,000 alumni across generations and geographies, the Director plays a key role in building lifelong, mission-aligned relationships that ultimately increase pride, participation, and giving.

What You Will Do

This role is responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy that is data-informed and mission-driven. In addition to traditional programming, the Director will focus on expanding regional, digital, and interest-driven outreach; enhancing the alumni pipeline for annual and major giving; and activating volunteers in meaningful and strategic ways. The Director will manage a personal portfolio of alumni donors and prospects, with a focus on qualification, cultivation, and solicitation for annual and major gifts.

As both a frontline fundraiser and strategic connector, the Director works collaboratively with Advancement colleagues and campus partners to ensure that alumni engagement efforts advance Episcopal’s philanthropic goals and mission-driven priorities.

About You

The ideal candidate for the Director of Alumni will be a strategic, relationship-driven leader who blends tradition with innovation and who brings clarity, warmth, and purpose to everything they do. You will thrive in this role if you:

  • Bring experience designing and executing strategic engagement programs in advancement, alumni relations, marketing, or other relationship-focused fields.
  • Understand how to develop and manage multi-year engagement plans across platforms, segments, and generations.
  • Are energized by connecting people to mission and purpose—and by building community
  • Have a track record of managing volunteers, motivating peers, and cultivating meaningful relationships across a broad constituency.
  • Have experience designing or supporting reunion-based campaigns or giving initiatives that align with institutional goals
  • Know how to build donor pipelines - discovering new prospects, qualifying interest, developing giving strategies, and soliciting gifts.
  • Are a strong communicator and program creator - whether writing a newsletter, stewarding a donor, or crafting the run-of-show for a regional event
  • Feel confident managing direct and indirect reports, setting priorities, and building team culture.
  • Are organized and action-oriented, capable of juggling multiple priorities while keeping your eye on long-term outcomes
  • Believe in the power of storytelling, tradition, and pride to inspire action, especially giving back.
  • Thrive in a high-energy, team-oriented school environment where school spirit is real, feedback is constant, and growth is expected.
