Position Overview

St. Edmund’s Academy seeks a strategic, mission-driven Chief Financial Officer, a senior leadership role that serves as both a strategic partner to the Head of School and the hands-on leader of the school’s financial and operational systems. This role oversees an $8 million operating budget and leads key operational
areas including finance, HR, facilities, technology, food service, risk management, and compliance. The CFO will play a central role in supporting SEA’s next chapter of growth and ensuring long-term financial sustainability.

 

Key Responsibilities


 Lead all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, audit, 990
preparation, and cash management
 Oversee HR functions: hiring, onboarding, benefits, training compliance, annual
contracts
 Provide leadership and supervision for facilities, security, technology, and food
service teams
 Partner with the Head of School and Board committees on long-range financial
planning
 Support enrollment and advancement teams with financial aid, tuition billing, and
contract management
 Oversee risk management, insurance programs, and regulatory compliance
 Build, mentor, and support a strong Business Office team grounded in trust,
clarity, and accountability


Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will:
 Have deep financial expertise, with a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or
business (MBA/CPA preferred)
 Bring 7–10 years of progressive finance and operations experience, ideally in
schools or nonprofits
 Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex
information clearly
 Balance strategic vision with hands-on operational leadership

 Model high integrity and alignment with SEA’s core values of integrity, respect,
responsibility, and service
 Collaborate effectively across departments and build relationships rooted in trust
and transparency
