Position Overview
St. Edmund’s Academy seeks a strategic, mission-driven Chief Financial Officer, a senior leadership role that serves as both a strategic partner to the Head of School and the hands-on leader of the school’s financial and operational systems. This role oversees an $8 million operating budget and leads key operational
areas including finance, HR, facilities, technology, food service, risk management, and compliance. The CFO will play a central role in supporting SEA’s next chapter of growth and ensuring long-term financial sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, audit, 990
preparation, and cash management
Oversee HR functions: hiring, onboarding, benefits, training compliance, annual
contracts
Provide leadership and supervision for facilities, security, technology, and food
service teams
Partner with the Head of School and Board committees on long-range financial
planning
Support enrollment and advancement teams with financial aid, tuition billing, and
contract management
Oversee risk management, insurance programs, and regulatory compliance
Build, mentor, and support a strong Business Office team grounded in trust,
clarity, and accountability
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will:
Have deep financial expertise, with a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or
business (MBA/CPA preferred)
Bring 7–10 years of progressive finance and operations experience, ideally in
schools or nonprofits
Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex
information clearly
Balance strategic vision with hands-on operational leadership
Model high integrity and alignment with SEA’s core values of integrity, respect,
responsibility, and service
Collaborate effectively across departments and build relationships rooted in trust
and transparency
