Part-time Dishwasher

 

Westtown School seeks an experienced part-time dishwasher to support the Dining Services Department 30-32 hours per week. This is a part-time, year-round position with some weekend and evening work required. Part-time employees are eligible for health and dental benefits.

 

Westtown School is a Quaker independent, pre-K to 12 college preparatory day and boarding school located in suburban West Chester, PA, approximately 30 miles from Philadelphia.  On a beautiful 600-acre campus, Westtown offers state-of-the-art facilities where our committed faculty and staff inspire and prepare our students to be stewards and leaders of a better world. 

 

Essential Responsibilities

 

  • Supports the work of the dining services department for ware washing, pots and pans,  replenishment and service; 
  • Provides friendly, efficient, and helpful service;
  • Collaborates with the student work program;
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area and completes daily and weekly cleaning as assigned by the Assistant Director and Chef de Cuisine;
  • Notifies managers of all maintenance and safety issues;
  • Maintains knowledge of school property and staff as necessary to perform assigned duties;
  • Reports all accidents to the Assistant Director and Chef de Cuisine immediately;
  • Works efficiently and collaboratively with other team members;
  • Participates in departmental meetings and attends all necessary training sessions.

 

Qualifications

  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • Some prior food service experience is preferred
  • Serve Safe certification
  • Experience in a customer service position is highly desirable
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License 
  • A team-oriented spirit and the desire to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move up to 25 lbs regularly using proper moving and lifting procedures
  • Able to stand, walk, sit, and climb 
  • Able to push and pull heavy loads
  • Able to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
