Education
Linden Hall is seeking a full-time School Counselor. The ideal candidate is a personable, organized mental health professional who can manage and coordinate the School’s mental health services program based on requirements established by school policies, procedures and protocols, and by local, state and national regulations and statutes, as well as maintain and operate the school clinic. We welcome engaging applicants who are interested in working with both middle and upper school girls. Join our dynamic educational team as a School Counselor, where you will play a vital role in fostering the academic, social, and emotional development of students.
 
Duties
  • Daily meetings with students.
  • Coordinate appointments and off campus care for students.
  • Support compliance with special education laws and processes including crafting, managing and monitoring IEPs.
  • Read and summarize psych-ed evaluations for students and for Admissions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with faculty, family and private contractors to support students with specialized learning needs (including advanced learners).
  • Assist with advisory planning in coordination with the Director of Student Affairs.
  • Assist the Director of Academic Affairs with reviewing and implementing student accommodations.
  • Actively participate in weekly student support meetings.
  • Co-teach Health and Wellness classes as needed.
  • Assist with new student orientation and onboarding.
  • Participate in 4 weekend duties per year.
  • Serve as dorm parent/chaperone on a rotating basis.
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in School Counseling, Mental Health Counseling or related field.
  • Valid CPR/AED Certification
  • Valid First Aid Certification
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license
  • Prior work in a school setting is preferred.
  • Social work experience, camp counseling or teenage mentorship experience are recommended to augment for residential setting.
Skills
Ability to assess mental health needs; possess knowledge of mental health disorders/challenges, developmental delays/concerns; ability to assess emergency mental health situations and act accordingly; ability to coordinate care with parents, teachers, and other professionals involved in the care/treatment of students; comfortable knowledge of universal mental health procedures and ability to teach this to others; good oral and written communication skills; familiarity with online medical records systems, basic computer skills.
