The Meadowbrook School is seeking a caring, organized, and energetic Extended Day Lead Teacher to support our Extended Day program. This role provides leadership for the afternoon program while working directly with students to create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate experience at the end of the school day.
The Extended Day Lead Teacher plays an important role in supporting Meadowbrook families and reinforcing the school’s culture of care, consistency, and community.
Program Structure
Lead daily Extended Day programming for students across grade levels
Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities that support social, emotional, and physical development
Maintain consistent routines and clear expectations
Ensure a safe, welcoming, and well-organized environment
Student Supervision & Care
Supervise students during play, homework time, snacks, and structured activities
Support positive behavior through clear communication and relationship-building
Respond attentively to student needs and ensure student safety at all times
Family Communication
Communicate regularly with families regarding student experiences, routines, and any concerns
Maintain a warm, professional presence with parents and caregivers at dismissal
Collaboration & School Alignment
Collaborate with classroom teachers and school leadership to support students holistically
Reinforce Meadowbrook’s values and expectations consistently throughout the day
Support school events or extended programs as needed
Experience working with elementary-aged children required
Prior experience in an after-school, childcare, or educational setting preferred
Leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
Reliable, organized, and calm under pressure
CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Clearance requirements per PA regulations
Part-time position in a supportive school community
