AIM Academy is excited to announce a position for an innovative, creative, and intellectually curious educator to join our Middle School Science Team for the 2026-2027 school year. The Science department is supported by a collaborative team of teachers, instructional leaders, and knowledgeable administrators. An ideal candidate will have experience teaching middle school-level sciences (earth, life, physical, and environmental), as well as a deep understanding of culturally responsive best practices. Experience teaching students with language-based learning differences like dyslexia and dysgraphia, as well as students with processing or attention issues, is preferred.
Middle School classrooms are small by design to allow for differentiation of instruction alongside collaborative, creative, hands-on, and project-based learning. The science courses are designed around a teacher-built curriculum (not textbook-driven) that integrates multiple resources and techniques to teach scientific concepts. In addition to science vocabulary acquisition and reading comprehension, writing is integrated into all aspects of the curriculum with explicit expository reading and writing instruction during the one-hour science blocks. Applicants should be prepared to demonstrate a knowledge of exemplary language instruction (vocabulary, expository reading/writing instruction), as well as knowledge and practice supporting students’ overall executive functioning.
Because AIM is dedicated to creating a culture of equity and inclusion, candidates should value engaging in open dialogue, questioning, confronting assumptions, and attuning to all voices. Please review AIM’s Equity and Diversity Statement online.
At AIM Academy, our hiring process reflects our culture, ethics, and core values: Care for Others, Creative Problem Solving, Commitment to Excellence, and a Can-Do Attitude.
