Position Summary
The Hill School seeks a Director of Academic Technology to serve as a faculty leader in the thoughtful integration of technology into teaching, learning, and assessment. Grounded in Hill's mission to prepare students for college, careers, and life within a rigorous academic and residential environment, the Director of Academic Technology works collaboratively with teaching faculty, department chairs, and the Academic Office to strengthen pedagogy, support innovation, and steward the evolving role of technology in the academic program.
This role is both pedagogical and technological in nature. The Director of Academic Technology brings deep understanding of teaching and learning alongside fluency with instructional technologies, both existing and emerging (including artificial intelligence), in guiding the School to thoughtfully utilize emerging tools while remaining anchored in Hill's academic and community values.
Serving as a key leader within the Academic Leadership, this person carries the responsibility and oversight to ensure that all Hill teachers understand how they can effectively and meaningfully embrace technological resources that best suit the more enduring learning experiences for students.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will demonstrate an established track record of instructional excellence at the secondary level and significant experience in working collaboratively with teacher colleagues to strengthen teaching and learning. A strong understanding of curriculum design, pedagogy, and assessment in a rigorous academic environment is required, as is experience designing and facilitating faculty learning and professional development. Familiarity with learning management systems, instructional platforms, and current educational technologies - including a demonstrated interest and developing expertise in artificial intelligence - are required.
The person will also be expected to undertake responsibilities that are importantly associated with a boarding school community, such as leading and serving on various committees, teaching two sections, and contributing to the School's co-curricular and residential programs. A bachelor's degree is required; a master's degree (in a relevant field to education) is preferred; ongoing formal education around emerging technologies is encouraged.
Start date for this position is July 1, 2026.
