POSITION: TEACHER OF ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS
STATUS: Full-time position for the 2026-27 academic year

MISSION STATEMENT:
La Salle College High School, a Catholic, independent, college preparatory school for young men of varied backgrounds, is conducted in the tradition of St. John Baptist de La Salle. PRIMARY ROLES:
La Salle College High School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher of Economics and Business who is passionate about bringing these academic subjects to life and delivering a rigorous and relevant experience to our young men. This member of the Social Sciences Department must create a highly engaging, active, and impactful learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in the areas of economics and business, along with experience teaching at the high school or collegiate level. At La Salle, teachers inspire and shape the lives of our students through their interactions both inside and outside of the classroom, fostering a learning experience rooted in knowledge, character, and
faith.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Teach six sections of a combination of Economics and Business - three one-hour classes a day.
• Assess student progress through various assessment methods and provide timely, meaningful,
actionable, and individualized feedback to students.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment for all students.
• Fulfill additional roles of full-time faculty members, such as managing a proctor assignment and
serving as a homeroom moderator. Expectation to get involved in moderating an extracurricular
activity, and/or contributing to a campus ministry activity.
• Productively collaborate with colleagues in departmental and school-wide initiatives.
• Willingly collaborate with departmental colleagues to follow the existing curriculum and, when
possible, contribute ideas to enhance it.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Clear commitment to the mission of the school, which emphasizes teaching the whole student
and meeting the diverse needs of students.
• Positive and enthusiastic collaborator who seeks to grow and improve.
• Experience with teaching techniques that foster active student engagement, including the
application of real-world examples to content and skills covered, and the provision of meaningful
student feedback.
• Passion for the academic subject matter being taught and working with young men to help them
develop to their fullest potential.
• Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of current technology, with a proclivity for exploring new technologies.
• Commitment to the professionalism of a teacher, including attendance, punctuality, respectful
interactions with all community members, timely responses to all communication requests, and
ongoing professional development.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
• Professional career experience in economics, financial analysis, or policy is desirable.
• Teaching experience in secondary education is preferred, including AP Microeconomics and
Macroeconomics.
