The Episcopal Academy seeks a dynamic and compassionate Middle School Health Teacher to lead and evolve our health and wellness program while supporting students in their academic, social, and emotional growth. This educator will teach engaging, developmentally appropriate health classes, serve as a trusted advisor to students, and help cultivate a school culture that prioritizes well-being. This is an opportunity for an educator who is passionate about adolescent development and committed to equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and habits that support lifelong health and resilience.

What You Will Do

  • Teach engaging, age-appropriate health and wellness classes to middle school students
  • Develop and refine curriculum aligned with current research and best practices in health and wellness education
  • Facilitate thoughtful, inclusive discussions around topics such as mental health, identity, relationships, digital wellness, and personal responsibility
  • Foster a classroom environment that promotes respect, curiosity, and open dialogue
  • Serve as a middle school advisor, providing individualized guidance and support
  • Partner with families and colleagues to support student growth and well-being
  • Contribute to school-wide initiatives that promote a culture of health, balance, and belonging
  • Participate in activities outside of the classroom through advising, coaching, and/or supervising activities

About You

The ideal candidate for the Middle School Health Teacher at The Episcopal Academy will possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 1-3 years experience teaching middle school students strongly preferred
  • Background in health education, wellness, psychology, counseling, or a related field
  • Demonstrated understanding of adolescent social-emotional development
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Skilled in building trusting relationships with students
  • Commitment to inclusive practices and creating a supportive learning environment
