AIM Academy is excited to announce the opening of a School Nurse position for the 2026–2027 school year. AIM is a college-preparatory school specializing in the education of students with language-based learning differences, including dyslexia, dysgraphia, and executive functioning challenges.  With approximately 400 students in grades 1 through 12, the School Nurse position is a vital part of AIM’s growing community. This position is part of a collaborative team of two nurses serving the physical health and well-being of all AIM students. This team is responsible for the daily operations of the School Health Office and is a key part of the Health and Safety Committee.

This is a full time, 10-month position with benefits.  Hours are 9:00am - 4:45pm. Start date for new faculty/staff is August 26, 2026.

Qualifications:

  1. All proper licensure, certifications, and clearances to work as a school nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
  2. All proper licensure, certifications, and clearances to work for AIM Academy including:
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • PA Registered Nurse Licensure
  • CPR
  • First Aid
  • Mandated CEUs to maintain PA license
  • Preferred national school nurse certification to ensure quality practice and demonstrate knowledge of the complex health needs of students

      3.  All necessary clearances, including:

  • Child abuse clearance
  • Criminal Background check
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint check
  • School Personnel Health Record with current Pulmonary Tuberculosis (TB) Skin Test

  1. Support Director of Athletics in developing and maintaining health and safety systems and protocols for student athletes
  2. As needed, a member of the Health Office team will be designated by the Assistant Head of School to:
    • Participate in special activities/events during the school day as general support and on-site medical assistance (field day, pep rallies, February Frenzy, etc.)
    • Act as off-campus nurse for school-day field trips
    • Implement health, safety, and wellness presentations and trainings (e.g., Safe2Say, health curriculum)
  3. Regarding community, regional, or national health data:
    • Monitor local health data to assess implications for school operations and potential adjustments to the Health and Safety Plan throughout the school year
    • Be an infection control resource to staff by monitoring infection control issues, as well as the need for policy and procedure updates surrounding infection control
    • Collaborate with Director of Communications to ensure that health policies are current on the school website and communicated with the community
    • Draft community notices or communications to be distributed by Director of Communications through official AIM channels
  4. Act as key member of AIM Health and Safety Committee, attending meetings and/or reviewing notes, following up on action items, and participating in supportive discussion around relevant topics
  5. Ensure continued certification and licensure from all relevant authorities
  6. Maintenance of confidentiality and best practices in accordance with AIM and HIPAA/FERPA guidelines
