Are you passionate about sharing mathematical knowledge with eager young minds? Are you inspired by the chance to be a part of an innovative educational community, where students think beyond the textbook and crave mathematical insight?

Grayson School students are advanced, curious, and eager to learn. We are looking for individuals who excel at flexible and creative thinking; who see themselves as learners rather than lecturers; who have excellent content mastery as well as solid teaching experience; who are enthusiastic, highly motivated, committed, and eager to join a community that is passionate about supporting gifted children.

You will be expected to teach middle and upper school math, through Calculus II, for students in grades 4-12. Your classes will be small, with careful attention to grouping by students’ previous content mastery, allowing for you to create an effective, engaged, student-centered learning environment. Opportunities for growth and leadership are significant as the school continues to expand in the coming years.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Mastery of math curricula up to Calculus II (similar to Calculus BC).
  • A Pennsylvania teaching certificate, or private academic certification, in secondary mathematics (may be in process).
  • Up-to-date (less than 1 year old) clearances prior to beginning work, including Federal Criminal History, PA State Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, Mandated Reporter training, TB test, Act 168, and any additional required clearances.
  • Awareness of the social-emotional needs of gifted children.
  • The ability to clearly communicate as a professional educator.

IT WOULD BE AWESOME IF:

  • You have an advanced degree in mathematics or education.
  • You have experience working with gifted children.
  • You dream in differential topology.
  • The expression for the volume of a thick crust pizza with a height of “a” and radius of “z,” makes you smile.
