Hours: Monday through Friday 1:00 to 5:00 pm

Job Summary:    Linden Hall is seeking a compassionate, dynamic, and student-centered educator to join our faculty as a part-time Physical Education and Health & Wellness Teacher. This role is dedicated to nurturing the holistic development of our Middle and Upper School students, ensuring that their physical, mental, and social well-being is as central to their experience as their academic achievements.

The ideal candidate understands that movement is essential to the adolescent experience and that health education is a vital pathway to self-awareness, resilience, and balanced living.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Health Education, or a related field required; Master’s degree in a related field preferred
• Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Prior teaching experience in Physical Education and Health Education required
• Experience coaching adolescents in a school setting, camp, or youth development program preferred
• Strong understanding of adolescent development, with particular attention to the needs of middle and/or high school students
• Commitment to fostering and sustaining a safe, equitable, and inclusive learning environment for all students

Essential Duties:

• Teach Physical Education and Health & Wellness classes in alignment with the school’s curriculum, incorporating a variety of sports, fitness activities, movement skills, and wellness concepts
• Develop, plan, and implement age-appropriate and engaging lesson plans that meet the diverse needs, abilities, and fitness levels of students
• Promote lifelong wellness by educating students on the benefits of physical activity, healthy lifestyle choices, and injury prevention strategies
• Provide strength and conditioning support and coaching for athletic teams
• Assess student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback to support individual growth and development
• Establish and maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment, ensuring proper use of equipment and adherence to safety protocols
• Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to support interdisciplinary learning and reinforce health and wellness concepts throughout the curriculum
• Communicate effectively with students and parents/guardians regarding progress, participation, behavior, and overall development
• Participate in schoolwide and community events including athletic competitions, Blue & White Spirit Week competitions, open houses, and parent-teacher conferences 
• Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance instructional practice and remain current in best practices in physical education and health education

Pre-Employment Training Requirements:

Candidates selected for this position must complete all mandatory pre-employment training prior to their start date.
