Position Overview

Villa Maria Academy is a Catholic college preparatory school for girls in grades 9-12, rooted in the charism of the Sisters Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, empowering young women to lead lives of spiritual growth, intellectual inquiry and Christian service.

We are seeking a dedicated Director of Alumnae Relations who would be responsible for the administration of a comprehensive Alumnae relations program at Villa Maria Academy. This position is highly relationship and stewardship focused. The Director of Alumnae Relations manages the Alumnae Association and all the activities and events of the association. This full-time employee works closely with the entire advancement team in support of all advancement initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of the comprehensive advancement plan and ensure that identified goals and strategies are effectively and efficiently accomplished
  • Develops and spearheads, in conjunction with other advancement team members, a coordinated and comprehensive alumnae relations program with the chief focus being on alumnae and family/supporters of Villa Maria alumnae
  • Oversees and executes engagement, cultivation and stewardship events for alumnae
  • Serves as the Advancement Liaison of the Alumnae Association to plan alumnae events, homecoming, class reunions, and encourage alumnae involvement in the life of the school
  • Works closely with the Director of Advancement to identify, research, and cultivate prospects for involvement for the Villa Fund and major gift initiatives. Creates, and executes a robust stewardship plan for alumnae donors
  • Maintain a robust portfolio of current and prospective donors, defined as those who can make a $500-$9,999 gift
  • Collaborates with the advancement team to plan and implement the Villa fund appeals (mail and digital), ensuring segmentation and personalization plans are executed
  • Develop strategic communication initiatives to keep alumnae, donors and prospects inspired and informed about all happening at Villa Maria. Working in coordination with the Director of Communications, provide information for social media and website communications.
  • Manage the Alumnae Facebook page and Alumnae Newsletter
  • Recruit and manage active class agent program focused on communicating specific classes, updating contact information, and soliciting Villa Fund gifts.
  • Co-plan and execute the writing for the Views of Villa publication
  • Attend conferences to implement best practices for advancement office goals.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in alumni/alumnae relations, development, fundraising, or a related relationship-management field. Experience in an independent Catholic school environment is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience utilizing CRMs/donor databases. Specific experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT and donor prospect research tools is highly advantageous.
  • Fiscal Management: Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to manage project budgets, plan strategically for future growth, and analyze data to drive engagement.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including alumnae, parents, administration, and the Board of Directors.
  • Core Attributes: A self-starter, a commitment to Villa Maria Academy’s mission, and the ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends for events.
