Schedule: Part-Time (15–20 hours per week through Mid-September; 10+ hours per week after; flexible around class schedule)
Compensation: [$14.50/hour]

Position Summary

La Salle College High School is seeking a dependable, customer-focused college student to join our Office of Information Technology as a Part-Time Help Desk Intern. This is an excellent opportunity for a student pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field to gain hands-on experience supporting technology in an educational environment.

Working alongside our IT staff, the Help Desk Intern will assist students, teachers, staff, and parents with day-to-day technology support while learning valuable troubleshooting and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, printer, and network connectivity issues.
  • Set up, image, and deploy laptops, desktops, and other devices.
  • Assist with user account setup, password resets, and basic system administration tasks.
  • Document support requests and resolutions in the help desk ticketing system.
  • Install software updates and perform routine maintenance on school technology.
  • Help maintain inventory of computers, peripherals, and technology equipment.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff when appropriate.
  • Assist with technology projects and classroom technology deployments as needed.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Current enrollment in a college or university pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Friendly, patient, and professional customer service attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.

Preferred:

  • Experience providing technical support in a school, workplace, or volunteer setting.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 or Active Directory.
  • Experience with Chromebook, Windows, or Apple device support.
